As a participant, what you can expect from ARA include:

An Airport Pickup on arrival.
·
An Orientation week.
·
Transportation to/from the Orientation week.
·
Your Basic Board & Lodge in the project is taken care of.
·
You get a project to work on.
·
Evaluation Meeting
·
Transportation to/from the Evaluation Meeting.
·
ARA staff available during an emergency.
·
A contact person to assist you during the program term.
·
An experience Certificate at the end of the Project.
Clothes that are thin but not
too revealing are appropriate for the small villages you will
·
be visiting.
·
Shoulders should be covered and shorts that are cut at the knee are
acceptable.
·
Sleeping bag (a thin one, as it is very warm) and pillow case
·
Swimsuits: in
·
Mosquito repellent containing DEET
·
Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
·
Toiletries and towel
·
Medicine as you think necessary
·
Pictures of your family, friends, and country to share with fellow
volunteers
·
Cooking recipes and other ideas for sharing your culture
·
Flashlight
·
Some spending money for personal items
And the most important is a
positive attitude and flexibility. These attributes will ensure a happy
relationship with everyone in general
