ARA is a Community Based Organization which concentrates on issues like community organization, income generation, micro-credit programs, land reform, agriculture, animal raising and gender development.
Because ARA has limited financial resources ARA Volunteer collaborates with many local NGOs to support our efforts of community development. This program is designed for those desiring real hands-on experience while working in Rural communities while simultaneously honing their personal, career-based/oriented skills pertaining to international development agencies
| Project/Volunteer's Life:
|
|
The idea is to bring foreign volunteer to Ghana and exchange cultural and
work experience and to contribute new impulses and fresh ideas that may be
useful in Ghana and the volunteers' home society. All volunteer placements
are individually developed and the volunteer's activities will be arranged in
advance. The responsibility of the volunteer depends on his/her skills and
interests. For example: A law student supports a community by sharing
information on their land rights or a volunteer with skills in development work
supports an organization to write reports and proposals for fundraising.

modest room as well as local meals three times a day. Volunteer will also have
an access to our office in Ghana and mobile number of our coordinators. Our
staffs also visit volunteers in each 2-4 week interval as a part of the program.

| Project Locations:
|
|
Community Development projects are
available in various towns
including Accra, Kumasi, and Cape Coast, with shops, banks &
internet cafes nearby. Ghana's vibrant cities are renowned for its
friendly atmosphere where visitors are always welcomed. It's full of
contrasts: from traditional culture and history to modern
infrastructure and most of the amenities you would expect from a city.
Volunteers can organize several combinations of potential excursions
during and after the project to visit places of interest. There is a
tourist infrastructure already in place the volunteer can use during
weekends. For example: waterfalls, monkey sanctuary, markets, purple
princess designs, mountain biking, drumming school, community based
eco-tourism project, Volta river, Pottery village, hotels, Kenta
weaving studio and many more.
