Our program fee is 40-60% less than our competitors compared to other volunteer programs in Ghana, ARA offers the most affordable program fees. Our program fee is 40-60% cheaper than our competitors. The entire ARA organization relies on volunteer contributions to manage program for volunteers, stay alive, and attain our goals - empowering local communities and bringing westerners to meet Ghanaian traditions.

With these fees, we support our volunteers by covering as much of the volunteers' costs as possible. A participation fee is paid by the participants. The fee includes the food and accommodation expenses of the participants, our administrative expenses; airport pick ups/drop offs, in-country orientation, 24 hour x 7 days a week staff/phone support. The participation fee does not include vaccinations, visa, and round trip transportation to Ghana and within Ghana and optional entertainment or tour activities. Participants make payment of their fees at a day after their arrival in Ghana and when they are personally in Ghana. The participation fee for the volunteering and Intern-student volunteering program we offer in Ghana is as follows:-

 Duration  Cost
 1 month   250 Euro

What do my fees cover?

Your fee does contribute towards the overall running costs of ARA in supporting their activities in Ghana. This includes the costs involved in running international projects in Ghana, establishing the projects, publicity and recruitment, training and insuring volunteers, monitoring, evaluating and developing the programme. By registering with ARA, you are effectively supporting the whole network of like minded voluntary organisations working for peace and greater international understanding throughout the world. Important: A non-refundable pre-payment of Euro 100 an administrative fee must be sent to the following account in order to initiate the placement process:

The application fee covers administration, marketing, program information, and communication. ARA began requiring the Euro 100 deposit to discourage false applications. In our early days, ARA did not charge a deposit fee. We received many applications, but 50 percent never arrived to participate in the Camp. These unfortunate circumstances damaged our relationships with local organizations. Since 2005, all of our participants have been required to pay this program deposit in advance because we need to do all pre-arrangement.

Additional 200 Euros per Camp must be paid on arrival. The payment will be collected on the first day of the arrival. (Registrations which were made through our international partners e.g. IJGD or Kolping) will enjoy this package. The Total cost for a Workcamp amounts to 250 Euro. Placement Conditions It is important that you understand ARA's conditions of placement. Your signature on the ARA registration form certifies that you have read and accept the workcamp conditions below:

On occasion, a work camp may be cancelled or the program content changed on relatively short notice. In such cases every effort will be made to accommodate previously accepted volunteers in an alternative program. When you register, you are assuming such a risk and agree to be flexible if and when such a situation arises. Work camps are not resorts or tourist/recreation activities. Volunteers are expected to cooperate fully with host organization and other participants. If the transfer of money is impossible from your country it ist usually possible to obtain a cheque made out by your bank.

We are sorry about this extra cost, but we are charged this amount to have the cheque processed. There are special conditions for our foreign participants who apply through an organization in their home country with whom we have a partnership. Finances ARA Ghana is a non-profit organization and does not have much of external funding.
