Accomodation

Accommodation /ARA Beach Hostel
Hostel
The vast majority of our volunteers live with local host families for the duration of their projects. However, ARA also provides accommodation for those volunteers who will like to stay in ARA hostel were they could also meet other international volunteers and make friends and exchange ideas.

This interesting option for many volunteers staying in ARA hostel gives you the opportunity to combine a life enhancing working experience with such a beautiful place to stay.

Roof Top Resturant

The ARA Hostel offers easy access to the city (Accra) many theatres, clubs, and restaurants, as well as to the University of Ghana, Legon. Bortianor Beach just across the road 3 mins walk offers modern, attractive, and efficient facilities for individuals, families, schools or club groups. A Roof-Top cafeteria is available to guests providing tasty, economical meals.

A fully equipped kitchen is also available for those who wish to do their own cooking.

The beach house is situated on Bortianor beach, an empty stretch of sand just one hour's drive from the capital Accra. A fishing village is 20 minutes stroll along the sand, and the canoes of fisherman setting off and returning from fishing trips are a familiar site from the roof-top of the house.

In traditional Ghanaian houses, several families lived in the same house around a communal central courtyard. The courtyard at the ARA Beach hostel is modeled on this traditional design.
